After introducing a seminar about GNU/Linux and open source to the SSTE (Scientific Society of Telecom Engineers )members , that was held in central el fawala by Diaa Radwan (Conceptor) ; Eng.Mohamed Abo Koriesh asked from us (Eglug) to cooperate with them in other activities that is related to FOSS, after that we have been invited to attend the SSTE conference about unemployment and development in ICT, in this conference he told us that he will contact us to arrange a meeting to talk about the activities that we (eglug) and the SSTE members can cooperate in.

He called me to outline some activities, we went there yesterday me and Diaa , the meeting was with the SSTE members and central El-Fawala Engineers , this wasn’t the expected we were expecting to meet Eng.Mohamed Abo Koriesh to finalize the course and the web site issue. But the engineers were having some questions about the FOSS so we had a meeting with them in the conference room , they discussed with us some activities concerning with the SSTE cooperation with Eglug from these activities the hosting and implementing of drupal CMS on their website and the course description, Diaa made a comparison between their website (static one hosted on Egyptian university server) and our website (drupal)and show them the difference.

Eng.Mohamed Abo Koriesh also discussed with us an idea that comes through his mind from the questions of the people during the Cairo ICT 2005 about the open source software. This idea is to help young people who have small business related to computers like small service providers and Internet cafes to use open source software instead of licensed softwares as these people can’t afford to pay for licenses to use these softwares and programs they need free license programs and softwares.

So they need our help to make these people able to use free open source software and to support them to make them able to use the free open source software in an easy way just like the way they use their old operating systems and softwares. This project will be a cooperation between :

• Us (Eglug)
• SSTE
• Handasa Arabia.
• Citizen’s right community
• and the support of Dr. Gamal Ghetas .

And we are expecting a call from Eng.Mohamed Abo koriesh to have a meeting with these community’s representatives after 2 weeks.
