Prepare for building LFS | The Egyptian GNU/Linux User Group

1st Preparation Process:

Create the partition which will host the LFS system is prepared
Create a file system on it ( journaling file systems for it's increasingly popular )
Using an existing swap partition
Downloading the appropriate packages
Compiling temporary tools
Compiling and Installing all the packages one by one (Wish For Non-Errors Occurs)
Setting up the boot scripts
Installing the kernel
Extend the system in the way I like

That's a good summary for the process, of course if you want the expanded version go to:

hope you get used to the ./configure ; make ; make install dance routine afterwards.

The main aim is to actually make mistakes and learn why they happen, and how to fix them.

Hope to hear the reults soon :)

try the BLFS book to "extend the system".

I wish I could install phaeronix on my patients.
