great news guys, I had a meeting in bibalex last thursday. The meeting was very promising as far as I can see.. I've given them a 3 pages file that I gathered from the infos on the site. Dr.Ismael Serag was very interested in cooperating with eglug and hosting some events in bibalex.
to make it short, the meeting was with Dr.Ismael Serag El-Din and Dr.Noha Adly. The main scope of the meeting was wikimedia projects as there was just wikimania2008 there and they wanted to make post activities. The wikimedia guys in alex helped me to have a few minutes talk about eglug, actually it wasn't a long discussion but Dr.Ismael was very interested to deal with eglug and other arabic lugs. He is mainly interested in increasing the arabic contents on the internet, and he's interested in lugs to provide the technical tools and support for that.
I am supposed to be contacting them within a day or 2. Of course they are asking for who to contact in eglug so I told them that they can temporarily contact me and I will give them my contacts.
Please if anyone has any issue that i'm giving them my contacts and he wants to step in please do. And I will need some support from everyone in alex. may be we have something really big soon isA

EGLUG encourages personal initiatives. Beside, judging by the current situation, the LUG can't provide you with a replacement for you who can deal with such things IMHO so please proceed.

I'm checking with them to make a presentation about FOSS in August 30th (which is the same arabic wikipedia day there). Do you think guys this is a good idea?
I was thinking that we may think of making an install fest on october.. what do you guys think?

Making a presentation will be v.good and i think we can work on your presentation ( Because i think your presentation is available :) )
And about the install fest i'm ready from now but there are some issues that need to be discussed (the location ,resources,........)
