Hi, I am the IT Coordinator at SOS kinderdorf - The Regional Office for Middle East, this organization's field is taking care of orphans, we already have three childrens villages in egypt.

I was approached by one of our youth asking about computer training that can be within their budget, then i thought about FOSS .

I know you guys do install fests and free training, but i searched the site for the nearest one and couldn't find any.

Please, if you can post anything that could be helpful, feel free to do so and/or contact me by email or mobile.

My name is Ahmed Arafa, and my email is ahmed.abdou@gmail.com mobile: 012 494 0800

Thank you

Why not?

If you can arrange the venue and the facilities (i.e. computer lab) we can arrange for free sessions for the kids, I believe EGLUG volunteers are still ready to deliver such training and customize courses for the kids.
So two questions here:

  • Any available place?
  • Volunteers?

So long and thanks for all the fish.

Being the pump behind FOSS, I couldn't resist :-)

If you have a lab, I'll be glad to join. But if it's on Friday and Saturday.

Obviously there are lots of volunteers, but there is no available equipment (Lab) at the time being (minimum resources .. ) but there are ideas, like may be renting an internet cafe' by the hour for the course, or may be using personnel's PCs on fridays and saturdays, and other ideas we have which i am discussing with both the youth administrator and the refugees administrator, i will reply soon with the results but i wish you keep the fire under this, thank you all for all your help.
