EGLUG.org upgraded to drupal 4.6

أخيرا تم ترقية برنامج دروبال المبني عليه موقع المجموعة الي الاصدارة 4.6

نذكركم أن ترقية الموقع تأخرت شهور عديدة مما سبب تعطل تنفيذ اقتراحات بتائة عديدة لتطوير الموقع و تحسينه.

أظن أن هذا التأخير علامة على تقصير من قبل فريق مديري الموقع المنتخب كما يمكن اعتباره أيضا جزء من خمول عام في المجموعة و قلة المشاركة من أعضائها القدامى و الجدد.

أظن المجموعة و الأعضاء لا يزال لديهم الكثير ليقدموه و نجاحنا الباهر في النصف الأول من عمر المجموعة دليل على أهمية المجموعة و صحة مبادئها الأساسية. أرجوا أن نبدأ في حوار ينتهي باقتراحات عملية لتجاوز هذا الخمول .

شكر خاص لمحمد سمير اللذي قام بالشق الأكبر من مجهود ترقية الموقع.

the popular content page is not working and the search field at the top doesn't work

popular content wasn't working properly before upgrading, for the search I think it's something with theme,I tried to fix it but I found nothing.

I think drupal 4.6 has no statistics page ,we could replace it with hof(hall of fame) module,or remove the icon.

I found hof on our modules page, someone was planning to run it.

I set the permissions and url alias for statistics page,the side icon is working by now.

I guess it is time to make the icons on the left hand side appear in a custom block and remove it from the theme. This is more modular and easier to administrate.

the info for the icon bar is stored in flexinode types, by just loading the node object you get access to all the data, or you could just craft an sql query.

come up with an php snipet to do that and we can turn it into a block or whatever.

totally useless all what you have said, this unnecessary complicated process that i didn't understand anything from was stagnant for a year and a half now. Yet it can simply be replaced by a simple custom block with HTML code. Plus we can't offer alternative themes to users who don't agree over the colors.
