from happypenguin.org: Cold War follows the story of a freelance journalist who finds himself in the midst of an international conspiracy that aims to control the U.S.S.R. Twelve hours after arriving in Moscow for a routine story, he has been stripped of all possessions, beaten unconscious and thrown into the KGBs political prison. Using only recovered weapons and improvised gadgets, he must now evade or overcome elite Soviet forces and defeat the conspiracy before he is sent to a Siberian prison camp or killed.
Here is the demo. I haven't tried it, so i can't really tell. Apperantly, it's one of these er.. B-grade games being released on linux by LGP. Things like that make you miss Loki.
Sine we're on the topic of Loki, icculus.org has just made the Prey linux dedicated server, which isn't exactly of much relevance to the linux gamer. Prey uses the openGL cross-platform Doom3 engine, but 3Drealms propably decided that linux gamers are too few to deserve a release. Thanks 3DRealms. Hope you never get to release Duke Nukem Forever.
Now dear linux gamers, You have only about one major commercial game hitting the market this year, ET: Quake Wars. Maybe Savage2 but that's kinda indie.
Also, there might be a Serious Sam 2 release (serious sam 2 is not serious sam: the second encounter) according to this.
Linux gamer favorites, the boys at Introversion are working on DEFCON. The War Games game (late about 25 years, but who's counting anyways). According to this, it's due in September. Maybe someone can buy it and demo it at the fest by then :P
I'll try to keep following on smaller (indie) production houses for more news later.
